Simplicity is bliss!
There is this Father-Daughter pair I always see each time I walk back home from the station in the evenings. They would be standing by their bicycle which is parked on the pedestrian pathway next to the train lift landing. The girl would be clinging onto her daddy's hand, and both father and daughter would have their eyes focused intently on the lift landing. It was as if they were waiting expectantly for someone to appear.
Soon, a woman would step out of the lift. The girl would then run up to her excitedly, calling 'Mummy, mummy'. Daddy would then step forward and plant a peck on Mummy's cheek. Thereafter, Daddy would lift the girl up and placed her on the bar at the front of the bicycle seat, before mounting the bike himself. Mummy would then sit herself on the basket holder stand behind the bicycle seat. In this way, Girl, Daddy and Mummy would peddle back home.
Over the past year, I have grown accustomed to seeing the trio each time I walked back home from the station. The heartwarming sight of the three of them on the same bike never fails to put a smile on my face. It comes across as something simple, but yet, there is so much warmth and love embedded within it.
I guess that's what it means by the phrase,'Simplicity is bliss'.
